Project Description

The Rotary Club of Dillibazar successfully organized a health awareness program for senior citizens with the aim of enhancing understanding of age-related health conditions and promoting better quality of life for the elderly. The program was jointly conducted with Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 29 and the Geriatric Society of Nepal, and was held at the Ward Office Hall in Anamnagar.
The event was chaired by Ward Chairperson Kush Dhakal and attended by representatives from various sectors. Rotary Club of Dillibazar President Prem Oli delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of collective community responsibility toward senior citizens’ health and well-being.
Province Assembly Member Dipendra Shrestha, the chief guest, highlighted that senior citizens are valuable assets of society and stressed the need for increased attention from government and local bodies in ensuring their health and safety.
The program featured an interactive health session led by medical experts. Dr. Ramesh Poudel provided guidance on the proper use of medicines, including timing and dosage, while Dr. Aryal discussed common health issues among senior citizens, their symptoms, causes, and preventive measures. The interactive format encouraged participants to openly share their health concerns, which were addressed with practical advice from the doctors.
The program was facilitated by social worker and Ward Member Santosh Dungel. It was attended by several dignitaries, including representatives from Rotary Club of Dillibazar and Rotary Club of Godawari, along with local ward officials.
At the conclusion, organizers expressed gratitude to the medical team and participants. Overall, the program was considered highly effective in raising awareness and supporting the health needs of senior citizens.
